At about 12:00 PM on the 26th I went down to Chelsworth Park looking for
the Spotless Crake that had been mentioned a few weeks ago. I found the
Crake where it had been reported, in the pond down by the batting nets. It
was right in the corner to your left as you face the pond. It should be
there for a while as it has moulted all its primaries giving a rather odd
emu-wing effect.

Further toward the batting nets were a group of mature White-browed
Scrub-wrens in full plumage. I found Grey Fantails along the billabong to
the left of the track from the Irvine Rd car park to the Sea Scouts
memorial cairn. I did not see any Thornbills. All others on the list
(except the Wood Ducks) were there including a Little Pied Cormorant on the
Yarra.

I could not find any Bulbuls at either the park or along the Boulevard but
will not give up. The last time I saw one was in the mid 60s at the north
end of Kooyong Rd in Toorak.
