Following from Judi & Neil Russill's observations on 17 December at
Centennial Park (see below), I also visited the park at approx 1pm today (18
December) when I had some spare time between appointments.  The pond near
the Children's Cycle Track held at least 16 Lathams Snipe, mostly resting
but several active individuals as well, including one feeding where the
drainage channel empties into the pond - so close I didn't even need my
binoculars.  Also the Little Egret, showing some very nice plumes and 10
Sharp Tailed Sandpipers.  No sign of the Lewins Rail reported from this pond
late November, but I only had 40 minutes!
