It appears that the drought has sent into the Canberra region a variety of birds not usually seen here, including the following:
* Painted Honeyeaters in number of locations, and breeding at Campbell Park
* Lots of White-browed Woodswallows and some Masked Woodswallows in the woodlands throughout the region, with breeding observed among the White-browed
*  Sharp-tailed Sandpipers at Kelly's Swamp
*  A Pectoral Sandpiper at Kelly's Swamp
* A Long-toed Stint at Kelly's Swamp (probably the first ACT record of this species)
*  A Black-tailed Native-hen at Kelly's Swamp.

In recent months we have had a number of Whiskered Terns at Kelly's Swamp, and a Gull-billed Tern there.

David
