G'day,
Today I took my wife to Redcliffe, just north of Brisbane and south of
Bribie, on the pretext of doing a bit of pre-Christmas shopping. However, I
couldn't stay in that wonderful cafe near the crafts and antiques shops at
Woody Point all day long, so I hauled myself off to do a spot of birding.
Not too much of interest - the Kelp Gull seems to be a thing of the past -
but I still enjoyed the waders. Especially when I found a Pec Sand! I've
since looked in the birding-aus archives and realise that most SEQ people
(who wanted to) will have seen last year's Pine Rivers bird. However, if
anyone is interested in getting directions let me know and I'll either reply
directly or through birding-aus. It appeared to be a non-breeding adult
although the light was such that I couldn't be absolutely sure. It called
in flight a couple of times and was still present at dusk.
