Trevor and All, Spotted harriers are great birds. Both in appearance and in behaviour. There is alocal pair here on the Atherton Tablelands which regularly produce strane looking young; leading to many confused birders, self included. Went looking for the reported Papuan Harrier today without finding a single harrier of any kind. Oriental Cuckoos are back at Hasties Swamp and also east of Malanda. Parked the car in a flock of White-rumped Swiftlets and opened the window. They were so close that I was concerned that one would join me in the car. Regards, Alan |
