At 10.30 am (30/11/02) following Allan Benson's directions, an adult Lewin's Rail was seen by us at the same spot bathing and then leisurely preening. It is a superb bird and it was great to be able to have such extended views and to study the bird through the telescope only approx. 30 m. away. The last Lewin's Rail we saw was at McGraths Hill in Sept. 01, Other highlights were at least 10 Latham's Snipe, Buff-banded Rail, and Sharp-tailed Sandpipers.
