Although I am not a subscriber any more, I thought many of you might be interested in this. Today the Gold Coast Bird Observers outing took them over the border to Pottsville (far, far north of NSW). Apparently, they found a nesting White-winged Triller within a few hundred metres of the beach. This species is quite rare along the local coast although it is seen on occasions. I have a photo of one taken here during the mid 70s. No one can recall ever hearing of them breeding so close to the beach. Perhaps Alan Morris has records for NSW.
