Hi all,

Saw the Canada Goose on Saturday in the same place as John Reidy (and at the same time, nice to meet you - I was more suprised to "tick" another birder). However I would like to add that anyone going to see the Goose should try and get over to the sth side of Shoalhaven Heads / Comerong Is Nature Reserve which is a great spot to visit (you can get there from Nowra by Terera and Comerong Is Rd then a ferry that takes you over the river). You could also walk over there from Shoalhaven but theres some interesting scrub on the Is for bush birds.

On Saturday saw heaps of waders from Comerong Is with around 50 Red Knot, 130 Barwits, 100+ Sharp-Tailed Sandpiper, 15 Curlew Sandpiper, 20 Little Tern, at least 1 Black-Tailed Godwit, 3 Eastern Curlew, 1 Whimbrel and no less than 90 Pacific-Golden Plover (with one particularly trying hard to be an Lesser GP, but couldn't be comfortable with wing length - certainly pale greyish and no black armpit and looked different in terms of head shape/ neck proportions).

Cheers
Simon.
