Hi Tim, Possibly Australian Magpie-Lark, or as us west-aussies call them "Mudlark". Is this your bird here ..... http://www.birdsofperth.com/terrestrials/blackandwhite/ML.html These are very common around the Perth metro area and common in the south-west. They are often seen foraging for insects in grass or on lawn, and regularily use telephone wires and fences for perches. They are about 1/2 the size of a Magpie and 3 x the size of a Willie Wagtail. Let us know if this ID is correct. Happy Birding, Claire Stevenson www.birdsofperth.com Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
