Apparently I upset some banders (ringers) by:

probable death of the missing thousands of leg flagged waders.
You did not raise any concern. You made a completely unsubstantiated
statement. You have been asked before to name the date and place, but have
been unable to do so. So I ask again, where and when?
The banded waders in WA are not missing. They return year after
year. There are banding records to prove this.
* repeating that bird banders are renown for "gilding the lily",
exaggerating their results and the importance of them to bird conservation.
Again, please give a reference to the article where this has occurred. How
can you exaggerate results when what is being published are objective data
such as banding records, recaptures, sightings of leg flagged waders,
percentages of juveniles, statements of migration routes determined as a
result of the banding and leg flagging, etc.
* pointing out that the "banders code of silence" is at the heart of
covering up many disasters responsible for the miserable death of many
birds. (especially cannon net failures)
Again, please give the date and place.
* demonstrating that in many instances banders cause worse
environmental impact than do hunters, because banding activities often
target rare and endangered species and cause the death of many of them.
Again, give the date and place, species and numbers.
i.e. put up or shut up. Otherwise, who am I going to believe, and who
should other people believe? My personal first hand experiences with
helping banders or your unsubstantiated statements? Someone who has been
awarded an Order of Australia and made a Fellow (Life Member? not sure
which Clive was awarded) of Birds Australia for his contributions to the
conservation of shorebirds or you?
