I saw/heard my first Rainbow Bee-eaters of the season today .. a sure sign that summer is on it's way. I saw three birds, but heard more flying overhead, in Cottesloe near Grant Street Station. There were two pairs situated along the fence line of the stretch of track between Grant Street and Swanbourne Stations last year, so it will be interesting to see if this area is occupied again this season.
