Hi all
Finally got round to putting a bit more effort into finding the Rufous
Owls today, after not seeing them on two (rather quick) previous
visits to the Darwin Botanic Gardens. I found the pair up in the
rainforest area, apparently sans young as I had sadly predicted,
which is a shame as it's the first apparent failure to raise young for
some years.
On the way home I found a Torresian Imperial Pigeon sitting on a
nest in a lone tree in the concrete forecourt of a suburban post
office, the same tree that I have seen it (or another) nest in for 3
years running. Nice to see that some things don't change.
I'm off now to chase that suspect small sandpiper I mentioned
yesterday.

Happy Birding
