Hello All,

Many people will be out and about this weekend with the Birds Queensland
Twitchathon and with other birding activities. This information
regarding park closures in Queensland is not exhaustive. Some
information from the Environment Protection Agency is as follows:

Due to fires and lack of water, please note the following parks are
closed
> to the public at this point in time.
>
> Sundown
> Girraween
> Ravensbourne
> Benarkin SF
> Main Range - Cunningham's Gap, Spicers GAp
> Goomburra SF
>
> Please contact your local Park Ranger for re-opening details.

Last Saturday, 26th October, signs at National Park entrances on the
Mt.Nebo road in S.E. Qld carried signs reading, "Due to the current
severe weather conditions, access in the following areas is prohibited.
BRISBANE FOREST PARK, BUNYAVILLE FOREST RESERVE, MT. MEE FOREST RESERVE,
SAMFORD FOREST RESERVE. For further information contact Brisbane Forest
Park D'Agular Office Ph 07 3300 4855."

Myala was still open to public use with many warnings posted regarding
the prohibition of all outdoor fires.

Please contact the responsible agencies in your area and keep in mind
that the penalties for breaching these regulations are severe.

LAST MINUTE ENTRIES TO THE BIRDS QUEENSLAND TWITCH ARE WELCOME.

Best of luck to all Qld twitchers this weekend and please drive
carefully.

Regards,
Ros Laundon.
