Dear all,
Here are the results of the VicGroup Twitchathon for
2002. The event went very well and the post-Twitch
party was well attended and (hopefully) well enjoyed.
Thanks to everyone who participated in
the great event in one way or another. Your
enthusiasm made it an excellent day!
This year we had four teams in the 24 hour race and
five in the 8 hour race, with a total of 35 racers.
The results were as follows:
24 Hour Race
Tick Tock Twins 175 (Best bird: Barn Owl)
[Paul Rose, Sean Fitzgerald]
Catbirds 170 (Shy Albatross)
[John Bottomley et al]
24 Hour Stints 161 (Powerful Owl)
[Richard Alcorn, Marg Alcorn, Simon Starr]
Common Loudmouths 154 (Scarlet Honeyeater)

The Best Bird prize went to the Common Loudmouths for
Scarlet Honeyeater. This year a special prize for
longevity was also awarded to Jack Krohn's the
Norwegian Blues. The team has now participated in the
Twitchathon for 11 consecutive years! A remarkable
achievement.
More details and statistics will follow at a later
date (ie. when I have time to do it).
Congratulations to everyone and hope you all
thoroughly enjoyed yourselves. See you next year!
Cheers,
Susan
