Gooday all,
Had a good size flock of 30-40 Fork-tailed Swifts feeding in the airspace over Bowen Qld. at 0820-1010 on Monday 28 October 2002.
Conditions were hot, slight Northerly breeze and clear blue skies.
Some birds were feeding very high while others were swooping through at the height of a suburban street power pole.
Gave my Mother a thrill but she did complain about how fast they move through the air.
My first sighting of this species this season.
