Hi All,
Apologies for cross-posting, but just saw this message on the
Orientalbirding Mailing-list and thought it might interest
birding-ausers,
unfortunately it is probably the most illegible statement I've ever
read.....I think I would have understood it better in Japanese!
Translations welcomed.

Subject: Atsugi city apologies for OZ Embassy about
little tern report

According to Asahi Shimbun on 22 August,2002, Atsugi city
apology
forAustralian Embassy about little tern report as
follows.

               ---------------------------------
               Hiroshi Takada
               Atsugi City Councillor
               http://www.hiroshi-takada.com/
               ---------------------------------

Atsugi city which receives inquiry from the Australian
embassy concerning
Little Tern nest building area nearby road construction
plan, " as for the
specialist have assumed there is no influence in nest
building area, " with
the problem which does the reply which differs from fact,
city recognizing
error, decided that it does the correction report of the
exceptional case
which recognizes influence in the same embassy on the
23rd August,2002
. The staff staff going to the embassy directly, you say
apology it does. As
for this problem concerning the Sagami river dike road
construction plan of
city, the Australian embassy in May influence and the
like to nest building
area asking is beginning. It gave an advise listened city
from the
specialist. As for the specialist as for the influence
with construction
itself it is not, but when traffic of the person and the
car increases with
completion of the road, assuming there is a possibility
of producing effect
it pointed out the necessity of measure. But, as for city
" especially
influence received the opinion that it is not, " it
replied in the embassy.
Receiving reporting which pointed out this problem, city
side as greatly
report to the side explains the fact that " it is less
than word " in the
specialist who inquires about opinion, you promised the
fact that the new
report which corrected contents is transferred to the
embassy. According to
city, in the new report, the point where it is pointed
out that with
inclusion of the person with the completion of the road
also hindrance can
be in habitat of the Little Tern express statement
conversion. " Last time
influence there is no ", as for doing, you say it makes
that it is something
which is expressed only the influence of construction
itself clear. The city
public relations office " in the future is great, we
would like to maintain
the relationship which can be discussed with side
securely. It recognizes
the fact that the previous report is less than word even
because of that,
apology wants " it has done.
