Lunchtime near Cape Solander in the Botany Bay NP produced a mature White Bellied Sea Eagle, clutching something in its Talons flying past, it seemed a bit laboured, not the normal easy soaring, it flew inland after following the cliffline for a short while. This was quickly followed by about 30 yellow tailed black cockatoos which flew over in 2 groups, headed across the entrance to the bay towards La Perouse. I was also entertained by what appeared to be a bush rat scuttling around in the heath, possibly attracted by the prospect of scavenging some of my lunch. Seemed a bit odd to see a rat out about like that at Midday. regards, Chris Ross Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
