 Hi Netters,
Steve Anyon-Smith and myself headed to Wattamolla 7:30am to 10:30am
Saturday 17th. Stormy and southerly wind. Choppy seas. Birds seen from shore.

Wandering Albatross 1 (similar to 40c Seabirds, Peter Harrison)
       Shy " " 1
       Black-browed " 5
       Giant Petrel? 1
       Wedge-tailed Shearwaters 6
       Fluttering (type) " 2
       Gannets 40
       Silver Gulls 100+
       Prions ? 2 then 1 (story below)
       Little Penquin 1
       Crested Tern 4
       Large Cormorant 3
       Large Pied Cormorant 2
       Little Pied Cormorant 1
       Little Black Cormorant 2
       Sea-Eagle (imm) 1
       Peregrine Falcon 1 pair.

       No Mammals.
The two prions were flying north to south, when Steve spotted a
Peregrine drop off the cliff and then flew at high speed at approx a metre
above the water. The female took out the prion and after a distance flew up
and dropped the bird to the up-turned male. He after a while flew up and
dropped the prion to the up-turned female and then they flew up onto a ledge
half way up the cliff face to the north. The sun was above the area so we
were unable to observe the birds with the prion. After half an hour the
female cruised past approx 5 metres in front of us. Really beautiful site.

All the Best
