On 7/8/02 at 1445hrs Three Swift Parrots observed in full light with 10x50 binocs, from 10-15 metres. They were foraging, but mostly stationary, in a narrow-leafed 15m eucalypt with plenty of bud and very little blossom. The trees are at the front of 252 Clayton Rd Clayton (the private day procedure hospital). First heard from the adjacent carpark, next to Monash Medical Centre. There they were, just over the fence, quite vocal for a few minutes, then quiet. The resident Hobbies gave them a close look, too. -- Trevor Kerr Blackburn Victoria Australia Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
