Just a warning.

Legally in the vast majority of the Western World what you say on the
Internet is equivalent to the same comments being published in a
newspaper or broadcast on your TV screen.

I am not trying to stem discussion on here, but what I am saying is
people should be careful about exactly what they say in public.
Comments about ethics and such like can come back years later to haunt
you. You never know if an anti-ringer/bander is reading this list or
other email lists and aiming to create havoc. Would you want to be
misquoted or part of a sentence that you've written taken out of
context? I think not.

It's all to easy to fall into the trap where we think we all know each
other on the list and we are one big happy family (that has a few
arguments now and again). Nobody screens members of this list. The
list is archived several times on different servers throughout the world
- nobody screens them!!!

People who want to cause ringers/banders hassle don't look at
scientific papers, they look to hearsay and "chit-chat". People that
might be new to ringing/banding can ask the wrong questions at times -
speak to your own or another mentor/trainer/master-bander or your local
Ringing Office.

I personally know I am a not the best person to preach - but I've been
using the net for over 10 years and seen the pitfalls.

Just be careful.

All the best
