After excellent views of the Northern Shoveler on the Railway Pond on
Ash Island on Wednesday afternoon I checked for it again late Friday
afternoon. I could not locate it or any other shovelers on either of the
places it has been reported at nor on any other nearby water in the
limited time I had available. It rained on Ash island today and many
waterbirds could be seen in flight this afternoon.
