Phillip
I compiled a database of all monographs that I could track down relating to
Australian birds/birding, for inclusion in the proposed Birding Information
Resource Directory. I currently have 1086 titles with the following details
listed, where known) - title, author/s name of publisher, place of
publication, edition information, size, number of pages, if illustrated, if
containing maps, if containing a bibliography, ISBN, any special comments.
Here is an example, for some Queensland titles:
An atlas of Queensland's frogs, reptiles, birds and mammals
INGRAM, Glen; RAVEN, Robert
Queensland Museum; Brisbane. 1991. 24 cm, 391 pages; maps, bibliography.
ISBN 0724246266.
Australia's Cape York Peninsula
FRITH, Clifford; FRITH, Dawn
Frith + Frith Books; Malanda, Qld. 1991. 24 cm, 74 pages; illustrations,
maps, bibliography. ISBN 0958994269.
An aviary on the plains
LAMOND, Henry
Angus and Robertson; Sydney. 1949. 2nd edition. 19 cm, 152 pages. Previously
published 1934.
A bird watcher's guide to Redcliffe, Pine Rivers and Caboolture
NOYCE, John
Wildlife Preservation Society of Caboolture Shire; Caboolture, Qld. 1997. 21
cm, 131 pages; illustrations. ISBN 0909971072.
My database would allow me to output a field-delimited file, if that would
be of any use to you; and the fields could be arranged in any reuired order
and deleted and/or included as required.
