South Australia trip

I sent the following info a while back in response to a similar reply.

Kaisterstuhl Conservation Park is close to the Barossa and has a nice walking trail and quite good birding. Tanunda sewage ponds in the Barossa are good for waterfowl. Sandy Creek CP is on the way to the Barossa from Adelaide and is a great spot for birding.

There are plenty of parks in the Adelaide hills that are only a short drive from the city and have nice bushwalks and birding - Morialta and Belair are two of the more popular nearby parks.

Another great birding spot is the Onkaparinga wetlands near Port Noarlunga, which is on the way from Adelaide to McLaren Vale.

We are planning a trip to South Australia in late July, flying in to Adelaide and hiring a car for a week. The trip will be birdwatching combined with wine tasting and other touristy things.

Can anyone recommend any good places for that time of year? It is our first visit to SA so I have no previous experience to go on. I have tried searching the archives but with no places to enter have not found much.

I would also appreciate any recommendations about places to stay etc.
