Nothing dramatic, but for the record, I've just been watching a beautiful
little Brown Thornbill in the bird bath a few metres from my desk. Such a
lovely bird, and not previously before recorded at Abberton in the 14 years
we've been here, though not at all uncommon in the nearby forests. Bird no
196 for the garden list.

(Note to Lloyd Nielsen, I was mistaken when I said 196 for Abberton the
other day - but it's ok now!)

Azure Kingfisher, Eastern Yellow Robin, Golden Whistler, Eastern Whipbird,
Varied Sittellas, all around out there just at this moment, and I can hear
the ringing calls of a Whistling Kite nearby. Red-tailed Black Cockatoos are
coming over daily just now. The winds of the last few days have abated, and
it's a gentle lightly overcast day. I'm struggling to stay indoors and do
some work.
