Seven Glossy Black Cockatoos just passed overhead from south to north.
Obligingly they were calling the whole time, so we were alerted well enough
in advance to get outdoors and be ready for them as they came over.
We don't see them here very often, maybe they included the six we saw last
Sunday. I noted today that all the Glossy Black Cockie records I've had down
in here in the valley proper have been between May and November, whereas
we've had Red-tailed Blacks have turned up in every month of the year for
the last two or three years.
A spectacular few moments here this-morning, with male Rose Robin, male
Golden Whistler and Eastern Yellow Robin, all busy in the same couple of
trees at the same time.
Nicci Thompson tells me she has seen Spiny-cheeked Honeyeaters in the valley
today. I hope they'll be checking in here soon for their winter break.
