CALL FOR PAPERS AND POSTERS
BIRDS AUSTRALIA CONGRESS 2002
Alice Springs Convention Centre, NT
August 17-18, 2002 (Saturday/Sunday)
Theme: OUTBACK BIRDS: PAST; PRESENT; FUTURE?
Any fields of ornithological study relating to birds of inland arid and
semi-arid Australia that can illuminate questions posed of the:
PAST: Origins and evolution of outback birds
PRESENT: Current status and trends in populations of outback birds
FUTURE: Key threatening processes, recovery plans, land management options
and conservation strategies for outback birds
Papers and posters may focus on single species, a while genus, members of a
functional guild or a particular habitat or ecosystem or even the whole
Eyrean Biogeographical Zone.
Short (20 minute) presentations preferred, but up to 30 minutes negotiable.
Deadlines: Proposed Title and Abstract (A4 page maximum) by June 30 to:
