Sooty & Bridled Tern Sizes

g'day all,
 
Can anyone explain the following published length size variations for Sooty and Bridled Terns.
 
Hanzab and Morcombe have lengths 10cm shorter than the earlier published Field Guides
How could Peter, Ken and Graham have been wrong for so long ?
 
There is no doubt a simple explanation.
