Should have mentioned in my previous message, I bought Denise's book,
while I was in the NT, so here a mini-review from an reviewer whose
only qualification is a few visits to the NT. Birds of Australia's Top
End starts with 25 pages of general info, then 140 pages with accounts
of each NT species and 28 colour plates depicting each NT species.
I guess its intended to be useable standalone, so the plates and part
of the accounts duplicate info found in general field guides. But,
NT-specific info in the species accounts on range, habits, locations etc.
make it well worth having if you are going to the NT. Denise's personal
annotations are interesting if a little idiosyncratic. A charming book.
