In reply to Paul McDonald's frustration about receiving very few reports of his banded Brown Falcons, I must admit to being very frustrated by the behaviour of the Brown Falcons themselves. Each time I visit the Western Treatment Plant I faithfully attempt to record the leg bands of the Brown Falcons but I have found that most of them either fly away before you can get close enough to see if they have leg bands, ir they sit in the tops of trees with their legs beautifully obscured. On Friday we had only one Brown Falcon that allowed us to get close enough to have a good look at its legs and it was unbanded ! I think it's a conspiracy. Regards. Tania.
