Left out some very important information on the email sent the other day.
The event will happen on Saturday the 18th of May.
Added on is that it is designed to be a family day with a jumping castle,
bands,
face painting stalls and food.
Hope to see you their, and while I do not want to flood the list with this
message, I will provide some updates on activities as the event goes closer and
contact the numbers below if you think you can help organise and otherwise try
to
let as many people know as possible.
Paul.
Momentum is gathering for an end to logging in old growth forests. In the lead
up to the next election Victorian Governments will be making critical decisions
on whether or not to protect forests in the South West, the Otways, Wombat
Forests, East Gippsland, Melbourne?s Water Catchments, North East Forests and
whether or not to further destroy areas such as Goolengook and continuation of
the ringbarking of the Errinundra National Park (continuos logging around the
boundary of the park). Plus a number of other issues.
A rally is being organised by the Wilderness Society, Environment Victoria,
Australian Conservation Foundation, Victorian National Parks Association,
Friends
of the Earth and 15 Rural Environmental Groups.
It will be held from 11AM at Batman Park. cnr Flinders and Spencer Streets
Melbourne. Melways 1A A11. Coincidently across the road from the ALP State
Conference.
Further info www.wilderness.org.au/home/victoria or phone 9667 1500 or 9639
5455.
Hopefully see you there.
Paul.
