A great Sunday in the Brisbane Ranges. Highlights were excellent views of both Fan-tailed Cuckoo and Shining Bronze Cuckoo without even having to move, Scarlet Robin and a very noisy immature Olive-backed Oriole. The Oriole stayed within view and chattered noisily not unlike a rosella or parrot, interspersed with short typical Oriole calls. It sounded like a group of birds rather than just one! Lots of honeyeaters with seven species seen. Of course, the Powerful Owls remain mythical.
