MALTA - MARSH HARRIERS SLAUGHTERED
There is a tragic photograph of beautiful but dead Marsh Harriers
(Circus aeruginosus), shot on the island of Gozo on 14 March, on
the front page of the BirdLife Malta site at:

and further details at

Keep the campaign alive. Proact has now new Maltese members and we
must keep the level of public consciousness high. Got to
< http://www.proactnow.org/malta/id21.html > (Times of Malta) and <
http://www.proactnow.org/malta/id13.html > and let your voice be
heard today.
Send a mail as well to BirdLife Malta at < >
urging them NOT to accept any compromises or give ANY ground in the
committee discussing the future of trapping and hunting on Malta. If
exemptions are made, and accepted by the EU, we can expect the
Hunters' Federation in Europe (FACE) to roll back the implementation
and interpretation of the Bird Directives in France, Spain.
