Greetings all
Having just returned from a weekend State Council meeting of the National
Parks Association in Barraba, as guests of the local Council and in part
response to its own initiatives regarding the birding pamphlets and other
environmental initiatives, I am acutely aware just how much these small
local communities want by way of recognition and how much they hope to
stimulate the economy through their actions.

I was therefore wondering just how many birders have called in to the Taree
Tourist Authority and told them why you were in the locality. Taree might
not need the economic boost but Old Bar would appreciate it ... and so does
Harrington and Laurieton. I know. That's my old home area you are all
tramping over!!!!

And I have enjoyed hearing all about the Kentish Plover too ... even if I
have not joined in the mass migration, a migration almost as impressive as
the waders themselves make. So any theories as to its movements?
