Dear all
18 or so people took part in last weekend's Birding
NSW (NSW FOC) camp at Shoalhaven Heads, on the tidal
flats and 7 Mile Beach - Friday 8/Sunday 10 February
2002 - led by Allan Richards.
Very unusual sighting was a juvenile Australian
Pratincole Saturday afternoon 9 February at low tide
on the sand flats, and seen again Sunday morning out
on the beach. Clear views by all - showing faint
streaking on head and chin.
Second unusual sighting was one Banded Stilt Friday
and Saturday feeding with a large flock (80-100) of
Bar-tailed Godwits (plus two Black-tails) on the tidal
flats. On Sunday, it was joined by a second, possibly
juvenile as was reported had only a very faint stomach
band.
No sightings of the Beach Stone-Curlew.
