Just thought I'd let everyone know that the Red-necked Phalarope has stayed in the same spot at Hospital Swamps, near Geelong, despite some heavy rain and thunderstorms last week. Allan Benson and I had good views of the bird late today. It is still associating with Red-necked Stints, and swimming frequently. The water level is a little higher but it remains very easy to access from Lake Road - please remember to ask permission from the land owners. Their interest in the bird has grown and they were asking how to see photographs of their "backyard bird" on the Internet!
