Hi all,

Went to Mitchell Park and McGraths Hill today and saw some interesting birds:

Mitchell Park:

I walked around the whole park and in the dry slopes as you walk up from the rainforest area bordering the river, saw 1 and heard
about 3 Cicadabirds, a bit further along the track just where it starts to level out and get wider saw 1 Chestnut-Rumped Heathwren on the
track and amoungst the rocky undergrowth. Also saw an immature Brown Goshawk in the trees bordering the swamp. White-Throated Gerygones
seemed thin with only 1 heard and seen. Plenty of Leaden Flycatchers were present as well as the usuall honeyeaters. (36 species in total).

McGraths Hill:

Pink-Eared Ducks still around now totalling 20, together with Shoveler. Also 2 Glossy Ibis, 5 Baillon's Crakes, and 3 Spotted Crakes. Other birds of
interest were 3 Hoary-Headed Grebes which I havn't seen here too often and 1 Azure Kingfisher in the reeds on the SW end of the main wetland. Also
saw a Horsefield's Bronze-Cuckoo seen at the base of some reeds in the middle of one of the ponds (unusual place, I normally see them in more open
areas (50 species seen in total).

Cheers
Simon.
