Robert I saw the same behaviour over a dry farm paddock near Geelong in Victoria. It was some time ago and I do not recall which Terns they were, but approximately 20 - 30 birds were involved and they were making regular patterned sweeps of the paddock. I think that the paddock had been recently harvested or slashed. It was so unusual we stopped and watched for a time. Bob Cook |
