I just had a look at the new Web site and in particular at some of the bird
guides accessible on-line. May I say they are absolutely magnificent, and a
credit to all associated with their production and presentation, and that
they could serve as a benchmark for production of other guides.
I cannot take credit for the BAWA (Inc) bird guides (except for Kununurra
and Wyndham and parts of Shark Bay, plus new brochures later this year for
Exmouth, Derby and Cue). The credit for this fantastic series of brochures
goes to Alan Jones who has obtained the funding, chased up people for the
information, and then organised the typesetting, printing and
distribution. These brochures have just been updated, and credit goes to
Roger Watson who has created the mud maps and added the colour and created
the PDF files. Credit also goes to a number of artists who have donated
their drawings and sketches for use in the brochures. The pictures add
considerably to the brochures. It is slightly unfair to pick out one
artist, but the pictures by Susan Tingay are all of outstanding quality.
