Omigod! two new variants on the birds I have seen! Those are the lengths of the birds, not their bills. I've met Rich Stallcup - he is extremely knowledgable about Californian birds and other fauna. The Audubon piece bought back pleasant memories - it really give the flavour of that part of California.
