Chukar was a new bird for me last year, but well within its
natural range. There I was in the Chung Kemin Gorge, about
1500m ASL in eastern Kyrgyzstan ... Chukar partridges
scuttling about on the scree, Eurasian Jays tree-topping, and
a flock of 6 Eurasian Griffon (vultures) soaring overhead.
Nup - don't think I'll bother getting shot on Flinders Island
for feral Chukars!!
