Hi, I have just had my first tick for 2002. A Buff-banded Rail at the Flinder's Uni. lake in Adelaide paused long enough for me to make a positive ID. I saw movement, then it froze momentarily as I cautiously scampered closer for a better view. It began calling a single squeaky call. It had a chestnut eye streak and was heavily barred on the belly and flanks. Magic looking bird ! Cheers, Peter. |
