Hi all,
I'm off to Torres Strait in a week or so and am seeking info on which
islands around Thursday Island (Southern TS) support resident populations of
Pale White-eye that I might reasonably expect to see in say a half day
visit. I have had a quick look in the B-A Archive (Mt Adolphis Is gets a
mention). I also have a copy of Draffen et al's (Dec 1983 Emu) paper however
this only documents presence or absence and as Pale White-eyes seem to be a
bit more mobile in the Wet I understand some islands where it has been
recorded it is better regarded as a visitor rather than a resident.
Any advice as to which islands birders have seen them on (and how one might
get there (water taxi???) would be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes to all for the New Year,
Rohan
