No car?
No problem! Sydney is the best capital city in Australia for the birder
without their own transport. In a just few minutes you can reach
Kurringai-Chase NP, Lane Cove NP, Blue Mountains NP, Manly coast park and
the Royal NP.
A very good walk is from Waterfall (Royal NP). To reach the beginning of the
walk turn left upon exiting the train station and walk towards the fire
brigade station. The walk takes about 5 hours (birder walk) but you could do
it much quicker if you had too(1hr). The walk ends near Heathcote train
station (just after a refreshing swim at Karloo pool)
If you are from Victoria the most interesting birds to see may be the
Emerald Dove (if you lucky)
and around Karloo pool you will probably see Rock Warblers (Origma), also
lots of honeyeaters...
If you need more information just let me know...
Take the train to Wollongong/Nowra/Dapto in Central, 25 minutes later you
are in Waterfall get off the train station and turn left, the walks start in
the right side of the Fire Brigade Station.
Cheers
Alex

Thanks.
