VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Liverpool Plains survey 2001

A Birds Australia project funded by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Natural Heritage Trust (NHT) and the Threatened Species Network (TSN)

WHERE?

Liverpool Plains western section (Kerringle State Forest; Tambar Springs; Mullaley etc)

WHEN?

Weekend of 15th & 16th December

WHAT IS REQUIRED?

The fieldwork involves surveying areas of public lands using the Birds Australia Atlas methods, either 2-hectare/20 minute searches or 500 metre area searches. Some experience with identifying woodland birds likely to occur in the region by oral and visual means would obviously be an advantage. Enthusiasm is essential.

ACCOMODATION?

In general, accommodation is up to the preference of each volunteer. Accommodation in the Liverpool Plains region ranges from camping at State Forests, Nature Reserves, stock routes, Caravan Parks etc, to motel/hotel style accommodation at Gunnedah, Tamworth, Curlewis, Quirindi, Werris Creek etc. NRMA accommodation guides may provide further details of suitable accommodation within the region.
