We took a pleasant walk along Lady Carrington Drive today and found many
good birds about. At the Jersey Springs picnic area we saw about 7 Topknot
Pigeons fly through and land. The Cabbage Tree Palms' fruit is just about
ripe so I'm sure there will be many pigeons along the Hacking river.
At the picnic area there is a large fruiting fig beside the road and it is
full of birds (mostly Satin Bowerbirds). In the fig droppings on the
roadway we saw a Rock Warbler feeding for sometime. There is a pair of Rock
Warblers around here and we watched them for some time.
At the creek I saw an Azure Kingfisher flying into the bank with food and
assume it to be nesting nearby. Annie found a Yellow-faced Honeyeater
nesting as well.
