Hi Denise
I don't know much about the society itself. I think it is based in London,
where the society has a library and headquaters.
They produce a well respected journal, divided into a Zoological and
Botanical sections. It often has ornithological papers which often seem to
have a broad scope rather than narrowly focusing on one species or aspect.
