An excellent view of the male Little Bittern at the Audley Weir this afternoon in the Typha on the left hand side ( north ) of the weir. It was feeding out in the open but dived-melted into cover when it was spooked by another bird. Other good Sydney rarities were 4 Gang Gang Cockatoos and 2 Echidnas. No sign of the Spectacled Monarch seen yesterday at Palona Brook by Steve Anyon-Smith. Thanks to Steve for getting the word out. Steve also recorded this week 2 Mangrove Gerygone at Bonnievale-southern range extension and a Brush Turkey. All species mentioned are Sydney and RNP rarities.
