Further to the question about Orange-bellied Parrot's 'depending' on introduced
weeds for food.

I passed this by the OBP Recovery Team Co-ordinator, Peter Menkhorst and he
advised the following:

its perhaps a bit strong to say that OBPs are weed dependant - they certainly
eat the seeds and flowers of a number of weed species [Cakile maritima, Plantago
coronopus, Polygonum aviculare, Arctotheca calendula, Atriplex prostrata and Poa
annua spring to mind]. However, the degree to which OBPs are dependant on these
species is difficult to gauge.
