Repellents containg DEET are excellent for dissolving spectacle & wristwatch
lenses, car dashboards, etc. What does it do to skin in the longer
term??!!! I try to avoid or minimise use of the stuff wherever possible.
Another option with bins is to consider one of the uncoated models. My
Swarovski WB 10x42WBs are, to the best of my knowledge, made with moulded
polyurethane barrels - no added coating. They have survived a couple of
DEET assaults unscathed.
