I am a member of the Central Coast Branch of the FOC and will be
visiting Melbourne for the period from Monday 1 October to Friday 12
October 2001.
If the Northern Shoveler is kind enough to stay at Werribee until my
arrival I would really appreciate the opportunity to see this bird. I
understand there are restrictions on access and would therefore
appreciate advice as to how I obtain permission or if this is not
possible the opportunity to go with someone who has access. I will have
a vehicle and will be very happy to provide transport.
I have free days on Thur 4/10, Sun 7/10 and Wed 10/10 but also a number
of free afternoons during my stay. Any information or assistance will be
greatly appreciated.
My other target species whilst in Melbourne is the Pink Robin. I would
appreciate any advice as to the nearest sites to Melbourne for this
species.
Thanks in advance for any information.
Regards
Rob Benson
